I have been writing almost my whole life. Pretty much since I was able to string a sentence together. I have written stories, articles, assignments, music lyrics, policy and procedure (boring), documents, resumes, copywriting, newsletters, poetry and the list continues but I need to stop making you want to yawn.
I have always been a very creative person and anything creative I have ever touched I have been able to do as long as I took the time to hone my skills. I have spent most of my life fighting the traditional methods of earning a living such as office work, sales, etcetera. I have tried many of these traditional roles and miserably left each and every one of those positions stressed and seeking my creative side for comfort. Only to stupidly return to those duties due to pressure from peers, parents or society in general.
Well the above being said I have taken the path less traveled and have embarked on a career choice that I will be able to develop and maintain for the rest of whatever is left of my life. That made me sound old, but I am not. I hope that it is an enduring life as I have too much to do before I go. But it seems no matter what job I had I was always working on my writing ability. Be it some of these jobs were menial but I still had to document and be articulate. Other positions led me to article writing with some editing experience, copy writing for a web site and the be all end all was writing policy and procedure. That was the dullest of them all. There was no fun in that job, but it got done and was done with the detail and professionalism expected of the job and completed on time.
I have no formal training in writing at this time but I anticipate studying formally in January of 2012. Until then I have been able to take advantage of some online free courses and have used this information to help my knowledge of the writing field grow. Thank you to those of you who are so willing to share your knowledge for free.
Well I hope that gives you a general idea of me the free spirit. Remember life is more than one path, it takes several journeys to find yourself and just when you thought your were there, just up ahead, life will throw another fork in the road.
P.S. I'll put up a photo of myself soon. I need to have a good one taken first!!!
